New Year, New Nails

A new years resolution is to stop getting acrylics because I can literally feel how bad my nails are underneath, but I couldn't resist a full set for the holiday season! New Year is the only time I feel like you can get away with glitter everything and you can't forget nails. I've really gotten into purple toned greys (is that even a thing)? and this colour is so beautiful I'm obsessed. I got this colour done at the salon but I know it's OPI so I'm hunting for it at the moment, I think it's my favourite nail shade of all time now!

The glitter is actually an Essie topcoat in Summit of Style and this is what makes them the perfect holiday nails - definitely worth investing in. I think Essie's range is so good and I think I'm going to explore them a little more.

Have a great New Year and I'll see you in 2015!!

Christmas Dress

Coat - Miss Selfridge (old)
Shoes - H&M (old) (similar)

As it's the last Sunday before Christmas, I thought I'd throw in a little Christmassy ootd post, and show you one of my ideas for an outfit to wear on the day. It didn't really occur to me when I bought this that it probably wouldn't be a great idea for the actual Christmas dinner -  bodycon and a lot of food generally don't go too well - but it would be a nice outfit for a little family gathering or even a meetup with friends around the holidays. I love the sleeves on this dress - it's really flattering and it also keeps you a little warmer, which is much needed in these colder months!

Have you got a Christmas dress?

Moon of my Life, My Sun and Stars

Shoes: H&M (old)

I have forever been lusting over this dress from Motel, and I finally caved and bought it when they were having  a 20% cyber weekend. It's such a pretty and flattering dress; I suit dresses that have a little detail accentuating the waist, otherwise dresses hang really strange on me, and I love how the babydoll style of the dress makes it really loose and smocky, rather than tight around the waist. I just think it's the perfect shape and I have been living in this dress since I bought it - literally I have had it for about a week and I've worn it 4 times. I love it! I can tell this will be my go to casual dress from now on, and it's really made me want to try more dresses in this style from Motel.

Benefit's Tan About Tan

I found this little beauty in Boots with their other Christmas sets - which I've never really payed much attention to until this year, but I'm think i might pick a few up because they are all so lovely.

Tan About Town has three mini Benefit products, including the ever so popular Hoola bronzer, the POREfessional and Bad gal lash all for an amazing price. I think it was just under £10 but I can't find it on the Boots website, maybe its an in-store only kinda thing.

I mainly got this for the Hoola bronzer because I really want to get the full size I'm just holding back because of the price, so as soon as I saw this I picked it up without looking back! I've already tried all of these and I love them so much - I think it's safe to say I'm buying the full size Hoola after I'm finished with this little guy! I really like the mascara, I think it's a great base for my lashes. I like to use the Bad gal lash and then the Bourjois Liner Effect mascara on top and it creates the perfect clump free lashes. I've already mentioned the POREfessional on my blog, but I really love this primer and I'm glad it's back in my collection.

What Christmas sets are you thinking of getting?

Jumper Season

Jumpers are absolutely 100% winter staples and every year I stock up on so many - mainly because the English winter literally feels like half the year - so I know I get good use out of all of them and will wear them nearly everyday.

Roll necks are also really popular and bang on trend right now, it seems like everyone has one and are putting even more on their wishlist. Topshop have some great options for roll neck jumpers, but I chose this one as it was a lot more casual than others and quite simple to style, which is great on days where you have no time to put effort into your outfit.

I picked up these tapered black trousers a few weeks back and I was really struggling with styling them as they are so high waisted, but pairing them with an oversized jumper is probably the easiest and elegant way I have styled them and I find the outfit is a lot more relaxed and casual.

Have you got a new favourite jumper? Let me know!

Get Me Bodied

I was roped into all the amazing purple shades that have made a debut this season, so I picked up my own purple lip colour. I really love this product because it's very matte and long wearing but it's not drying at all. It's also highly pigmented - a lot of purple shades I've tried have been too sheer and not true to colour, but this is so perfect. Topshop have a lot of lip bullets that I want to try; they seem to have every trending lip colour this season. I really prefer the lip bullets over the lipsticks they have, I find that the lipsticks really show how chapped my lips are when I wear them so the lip bullets are definitely my favourite!

Have you got a purple shade this season?

Me and My Old Blue Jeans

Shirt - Primark, Jeans - Topshop Shoes - Converse Rings - H&M, Topshop and Primark, Bag - Dorothy Perkins

I know the classic look is a white shirt with jeans, but I don't have one that's not sheer so I thought black would be a bit better for me and fit into my style a lot more. I really love this shirt; I think it's quite good quality. I did want it to be oversized but I had get it in a size 16 because the design is like, really small but it worked out well!

I paired it simply with converse and gold midi rings, as well as adding a tiny collar decoration with my Finnish snowflower necklace I got for my eighteenth, because I do have a Finnish family - which I know isn't very obvious, so it's actually a nice conversation starter.

I think this is going to become one of my staple outfits as time goes on, it' so effortlessly classic and put together and yet its really casual, what's your go to outfit?

Summer into Winter

I bought this skirt in the mid season sale in Topshop, along with all the summer trends they had to get rid of to make way for autumn and winter. I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off in the colder months because of the long and few slits on the skirt, but because of the dark colours I found it surprisingly easy to style. I went with the black theme in the skirt to make the outfit even darker, and chucking on black tights, a leather jacket and chunky boots are really all you need to make the skirt wearable in the winter.

Kylie Jenner Lips

Everyone has been going crazy over Kylie Jenner lips lately and I have to agree, they are beautiful, and I know that bloggers have been going mad trying to find the exact lipstick she's wearing, and also to find high end and also budget friendly dupes to get her look.

I think I've also found a really good budget friendly dupe and it is from none other than the Kate Moss collection for Rimmel London in the shade 08. I love that 90's inspired brown nude lips are everywhere at the minute and I really like that this lipstick has quite a mauvey tint to it, so it looks very 'my lips but better'.

Have you found a dupe for Kylie's signature lips?

Casual Mondays

My fool proof Monday morning 'It's too early for work' outfit. It has everything I need to be comfy, practical and warm. (Besides the coat because I don't need a coat at work). I think pairing a casual jumper with a layered necklace is a great way to add an elegant touch to an outfit.

What's your foolproof Monday outfit?

Drugstore Gems: Maybelline Colour Tattoo's

I say this about everything but I have been so late on the bandwagon with these and I can't believe it took me this long to pick these up, but I've only just started getting into trying new things and seeing how they compare to others, and just see if they are worth the hype around them.

I've been obsessing over the Groundwork paint pot by MAC but instead of splashing out on that I thought I'd try something similar, and when I saw Boots was having a promotion on Maybelline products, I thought I'd pick a few to try. I picked on and on bronze because I've heard that name all over the blogging and YouTube community, and I also picked the leather effect one in creamy beige because that looked the closest to Groundwork.

After trying both of them I am so glad to say they are really amazing, I love these so much! Creamy beige is a little more shimmery than I'd hoped, it looked more matte in the packaging, but all in all I love these. They are so easy and simple to apply and I use these so often now. I use on and on bronze to go from day to night, and creamy beige is definitely my go to easy eye look.

I probably will still purchase Groundwork because I am still very much lusting over it, but these were great to tide me over until then!

REVIEW: The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter

I think it's safe to say that everyone finds removing makeup a real chore. In fact I dread to do my makeup sometimes - despite how much I love it - just because I don't want to bother with taking it off. I've tried many 'hyped' products and they all work so well with removing makeup, I just find that nothing does it fast enough for my liking.

HOWEVER - I've wanted to try the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter for a long time now, and I finally picked it up on their 30% off promotion and I am so glad I have found this. This is a dream when it comes to removing makeup. Not only does it remove it extremely well, it removes it in less than 5 minutes. WHICH IS AN ABSOLUTE DREAM. I find that removing bottom lash makeup really hard but this removes it without me needing to even try, and it leaves my skin feeling so soft.

I would recommend this to anyone who hates to remove makeup and wants a simple but effective skincare routine!

The Faux Fur Gilet

I know it's not exactly classic to have coloured faux fur, but I couldn't pass this one up! It's incredibly soft and looks so much more fun that just a plain black one. (But don't get me wrong, a black one is definitely on my shopping list)!

I love the look of this with an all black outfit, but I think it's a really versatile piece despite how loud it is and I have gotten so much wear out of this already!

This gilet is from Forever21 which at £24 it's so much cheaper than it's higher end high street counterpart, and they have so many different types stocked in there, as well as in other shops too, so they are really easy to get your hands on this autumn!
