Tonight You're Perfect

It was finally time for me to whip out my flower crown for the summer and I couldn't resist wearing it with this open back blue dress. I love simple dresses for the summer, you can just throw them on, add a few accessories and you have a really cute outfit.

Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Topshop
Flower Crown: H&M

I don't normally wear much jewellery, but I thought for such a simple outfit I needed to add a little extra something, so I opted for layering some necklaces. Mine are so old now, the teardrop necklace was a birthday present two years ago, the green snowflake was another gift from a friend and the small watch necklace is from a stall in Covent Garden.

Recently I also went to see War Horse for my dad's birthday and I have to say it was so moving, I thought the puppetry was amazing and it was very raw and powerful. Anyone should go and see this!

Talk to you soon,

What's In My Bag

I never carry massive bags around on a day to day basis unless I need to carry a lot of stuff, which is great because that means I don't carry around so many unnecessary things, (and as I type this I am so happy that I finally spelled unnecessary right without needing spellcheck).
The bag that I normally use is one from Primark, I forgot to photograph it but there's so many similar ones in Primark now, and they are amazingly cheap. I think it's fairly good quality too seeing as I purchased mine back in October last year and I've used it to death and it still hasn't given up on me.

I obviously need the necessities like my purse, glasses, keys and phone but the extra things that I wouldn't be able to live without are my earphones - I'd literally die if I forgot these, I usually have to walk quite far and music just makes it that little bit more bearable, and I've actually taken up bringing plasters with me everywhere I go because blisters are taking over my life at the minute. Because I am literally oh so poor I couldn't afford actual blister plasters but I found these cushioning ones from Superdrug that are lifesavers.
I sometimes hop on buses so I like to have my oyster card handy, and I like to carry it in a card holder as it just makes life easier! Mines from Primark and I think it adds a splash of colour to my somewhat mostly black and white possessions.I love having my perfume with me just for little spritzes on the go and at the minute I've been loving La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain and this is a scent I randomly stumbled across. I never ever buy perfumes so it took a lot for me to want to purchase this - so glad I got a small bottle so now I can take it with me everywhere!

Patterned Trousers

These trousers were given to me at Christmas and I've only just gotten around to wearing them seeing as patterned trousers are everywhere this spring/summer season. Mine are from Forever 21. Wanting to keep the trousers as the focus, i just paired them with a simple white crop top from Topshop, and a simple pair of flats from H&M. I think the white top makes the whole outfit a lot brighter than wearing it with a black top and makes it more daytime friendly.

I definitely will be picking up some more patterned trousers, I think they are extremely comfortable and yet still very sophisticated and perfect for a more dressed up casual look for summer,

Wasteland

I love giving outfits some edge, such as taking this daisy print top and black shorts and pairing it with a red checked shirt and a gold chain necklace. I think it adds a certain grunge look that the likes of Kylie Jenner has been sporting lately.

The platformed boots I'm wearing makes the outfit a little less casual and ties in with the whole grungy feel.

My favourite thing about these pictures is definitely the location; the place is so empty and is very rough looking, making it the perfect place to shoot this outfit.

peace out,

Castles and Cats

Sometimes it takes me right up until the weather gets warmer to walk down by the river - most probably because it's freezing down by the pier, but this day was extremely hot; hence the shorts! These ones are from H&M and I'm a huge fan of lace shorts this summer. They're so comfortable and they also add an elegance to an otherwise plain outfit.

My jumper is also from H&M and I love the floral pattern, I've been obsessed with floral lately. It's also really lightweight and just perfect for summer.

We also met this adorable cat whilst we were taking pictures of my outfit; he came running up to us and we spent at least half an hour just playing with this cat - crazy cat lady here I come!

Beauty Haul

I was in desperate need of some new make up and I thought why not try some things out rather than sticking what I'm comfortable with. I went to Boots and also bought some things off fragrance direct, which is an amazing online beauty shop where you can get beauty products discounted - and there are some amazing bargains on there.

I love this - it doesn't clump or crumble at all and it's really easy to build up for long and voluminous lashes. It also has a plastic wand which I love because they work the best for me.

Benefit's POREfessional Primer

I got this nifty little travel sized bottle free with a magazine and so far I am loving it, I haven't used it that much since getting it but I could see a difference as soon as I put it on, my pores immediately vanished and my skin was so smooth. I would recommend this to anyone.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

Everyone raves about Real Techniques so I finally gave in and decided to invest in one, and the one that took my eye was the expert face brush. I can see why this brush is well loved; it's very dense so its easy to buff it into the skin. I don't have to do much work with this as it does it all for me.

This foundation is actually a little too dark for me; I knew I should've gotten the lighter shade, but either way this foundation works really well for me. I have stuck to the same foundation for well over a year now and that is Maybelline's Match Perfection Foundation. Even though I love how well it matches my skin and the coverage it gives me too, I thought it was time to choose something different. The coverage with this is very good but I feel like it leaves my skin very dewy and that's not something I normally like, but if you're a fan then this foundation is for you. It's a light formula but very buildable.

This was just an impluse buy as it was cheap on fragrance direct but I am surprised how much I liked it. It is also too dark for me - only by one shade though so it's not that bad. I like the formula as it's not greasy and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin.

This was another impulse buy and I have to say I love this so much - I suffer with dry lips all the time so most lipsticks just make my lips crack, but I don't like sheer formulas so you can see my dilemma. Normally I just steer clear of lipsticks but I am so glad I didn't pass this up. It doesn't dry my lips at all and in no way is it sheer. The colours are inspired by actual lip colours so they are mainly pink nudes.

Bleach London Bruised Violent Non Permanent Hair Dye (full range here)
I really want to dye the ends of my hair purple (mainly because I am way to scared to dye my whole head purple) and I was looking for a non permanent one so it won't damage my hair too much, and one that would work on dark hair as I am not keen on the idea of bleaching my hair. I haven't done it yet but I was thinking about doing a post on it, so look out to see if it works!

I bought this for when I dye the ends of my hair, I've used this conditioner before and it was a miracle worker on my hair so I'm just praying it will save me if anything goes wrong.

Those are just some beauty bits I've picked up this month, next month I will definitely be trying new things out as well!

Wicked!

I finally saw Wicked recently with my good old mum and I have to say I was completely blown away, I wish I'd seen it sooner! I would recommend this to anyone who has never seen it - it will blow your mind.

Excuse the awful picture - but I couldn't help getting a picture documenting it!
