Shoe Wishlist

Shoe Wishlist

Shoe Wishlist by joseymaypage

I always have bookmarks upon bookmarks of clothes and shoes I have been eyeing up, so I thought why not share some of my current loves!

I really need to venture out and try new heels, I only have one pair and I justify that by saying 'they're black, they'll go with everything!'. I really love the style of these but I was mainly drawn in by the colour - I would love to rock white heels on a night out!

I really want to start buying more flat shoes but not just boring black ones so I found these amazing brogues with cut outs - two most popular trends into one! I think you could style these in so many ways too. Maybe with some leggings or trousers - definitely a dress!

Now, I own a couple of platform boots, but I really want a plain pair that will last. My lace up boots have got holes in, and my wooden heel boots are too much to style with my wardrobe right now! Definitely in need of buying a versatile pair.

These next ones are basically the ones before but without the platform heel which I think are ideal for the winter. Being on your feet all day at work can be too much for heels, so these are definitely on the list.

This pair is for those casual days when you want to look good but you want to be so comfortable. Just so I don't wear my converse every time I wear jeans, I thought these would be an excellent addition to my wardrobe.

What shoes are your favourites?

Primark Nails, Worth It Or Not?

I love Primark for all sorts of reasons, but I never thought to go there for beauty bits, just because I'm a little curious how good quality products can be sold for so cheap. However I love these nails from Primark's beauty range, normally they last me longer than any nail varnish! They last me between 2-5 days which is great for a £1 manicure!

Their designs are really quirky and still on trend, and my favourite so far has to be these matte white ones. They're so stylish and lasted me for a little over a week!

Another great thing about these nails is that they come with nail glue, so you are getting great value for only £1. If you haven't tried these yet you really should!

July Haul!

I've been on a bit of a spending ban this month however that didn't stop me picking up a few things. I have such a huge shopping compulsion recently so I limited myself to only a few things this month, although it's been so hard!

Seeing as it's summer I really need some more weather appropriate shoes, and I've been wanting some converse for over a year now and I thought now was that perfect time to pick some up. Now that I have them I have no idea why it took me so long to get some!

I took a trip into Primark and found this amazing pleated blue midi skirt. I've wanted a similar dress from Amazon that I knew I couldn't afford so this was the next best thing. My style has been inspired a lot by bloggers and I just couldn't help being sucked in to Becca Rose and Arabella's feminine and sophisticated style. I haven't worn it yet but I've planned so many outfits around this and I just can't wait to wear it! Another thing I picked up in Primark was a sports bra, and I bought this to somehow motivate me to exercise. It hasn't worked yet but I hope it will soon!

I also went to Superdrug and picked up the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick, I actually did a review on this so I won't talk about it too much, I would just say I love this and it's on my agenda to get more! Mine's in the shade Nude-ist.

I picked up the MUA concealer palette just because it was cheap and I have to say there's only one concealer in this palette that I like and does anything for me at all, but I do think concealer palettes are a good idea, however I would definitely go for something more high end just because you want a high quality product. I also picked up a MUA nail varnish because they are cheap and I love the formulas with these. I love how they don't chip easily on my nails which is a must for me because nail varnish just disappears off of my nails within a couple of days. I got the shade sweet peach which is like a really pretty coral orange colour which looks great with a tan.

Finally from Superdrug I got the NYC Smooth Skin Bonzing Powder in Sunny, and I had to get this off of their website because I couldn't find this in store. I love this for contouring and even just bronzing up my face because it's very matte and doesn't look orangey - as long as I don't overload it on.

Finally I bought a new iPhone charger - this may seem really boring but I just want to say that I would definitely recommend buying an expensive charger just because they are extremely durable and work so much better. I couldn't afford the original Apple charger so I bought this Syncwire one off of Amazon for £10 and it works just as well. A few weeks before I bought this one I picked up a really cheap one online, and it worked for a day and then fell apart, and when I tried to use it without the protective covering, my phone started smoking! So just a warning and a recommendation, always buy fully reliable chargers, even if they are a little expensive.

REVIEW: KIKO Sunproof BB Cream

I picked this up whilst in Venice, I forgot to pack my trusty Match Perfection and I was in need of a substitute. I found one that I thought was promising but the lady in there assured me this BB cream was so much better, and tested it on my hand. I really liked the look of this - she only used a small amount on my hand and once blended it was really undetectable but my skin looked perfected.

However when I got back to the hotel and tried it out on my face and I was so disappointed, it feels very greasy on the first application but it dries so quickly that I had quite a few streak marks.

I have heard that BB creams aren't to be used for covering problem areas and seeing as I like to use medium to high coverage foundations this is probably why this product didn't work for me, however I have read reviews on BB creams that work so much better that this.

This product did put me off trying BB creams but now that it's summer I might start trying more out and see if any work for me! Are there any BB creams that work for you?

OOTD: Sunflower Picnic

So the English weather is warming up so much that people are heading to the river front for a little sunbathing, including me and le boyfriend. Love the area by the pier so it was a great place to take pictures! Sadly soon after we took these pictures it hammered it down on top of us - that's English weather for you.

So inspired by the American Apparel shorts when I bought these ones from Forever 21. I'm more into small floral print than large, I think it looks a little more feminine. There's not much to go with these shorts so I just paired it with this top from Primark and I love the little collar, again adding a little more feminism to the outfit. I paired it off with my brand new converse that barely survived the random storm that struck after we had the picnic!

REVIEW: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

After hearing about these on Gabriella's channel (velvetgh0st), I had to try it. I find lipsticks that aren't drying on my lips so hard to find and I decided to try this out. It honestly didn't take me long to love this - it went on incredibly smooth and velvety and didn't feel sticky or sheer at all. I love the colour payoff on these they are really pigmented and it dried quite quickly but didn't dry out my lips which was great seeing as they last forever! Literally this stuff does not budge off my lips, nor does it smudge or fade. Even when I swatched this it took hours too come off - and I scrubbed it straight away!

I need to pick up more colours in this, I can tell I'll love them all!

Zoeva Brushes Wishlist

I have wanted Zoeva brushes ever since they became big in the blogger world, so I thought I'd check them out and I was surprised with how cheap they are! I am amazed that such high quality sought after brushes after extremely affordable. I'm always dubious with brush sets because I don't want to waste money on products that I won't get much use out of, so I have a few brushes on my wishlist that I know I will be picking up soon.

Believe it or not, but I don't actually own a powder brush, I just whatever is there to do the job so this one is definitely needed. I love how big the brush is and the website claims it gives a 'velvety finish'. I definitely need this in my life!
I need eye brushes that will do all of the work because I am awful when it comes to applying eyeshadow and I thought this one would be great for me. I actually have quite small lid space so as this is smaller than the regular crease brush I thought this would be perfect for me.

I liked the idea of using this brush for the outer corners of my eye because that is something I struggle with and I give up with now, I think this brush would really help me with that, and definitely a staple for everyday smoky eyes.

I thought why not have all the basics, so I had to include the classic shader brush. This could just be used to pack colour onto the lid and is a staple in anyone's makeup collection.

I haven't picked very many brushes mainly because I'm extremely simple with my makeup. I know that I would use all of these on a daily basis so I would get my money's worth and more.

What's great too is that they have a vegan selection, so if you're in need of these maybe go and check them out.

Braided Headband Hairstyle

I realised a little while ago that I literally do nothing at all with my hair, and that stems from having such unruly, frizzy and unmanageable hair for so long. But I thought since it's growing out why not try something new. I got this idea from trying (and failing) a milkmaid braid, and this works out so much better on me.

Step 1: Take a section of hair just below your ear - it should be slightly back onto your neck a little bit.

Step 2: Braid it all the way down and finish it off with bobby pins or hairbands. Do the same with the other side

Step 3: Push the rest of your hair back off your face - keep your fringe down if you have one and would like it out, but if you want a hairstyle that will get your hair off your face, just push it back so the braid will keep it in place.

Step 4: Wrap the braid up over your head and pin in place, and do the same with the other side.

This was my finished result! I think it turned out really well and is something I will definitely wear a lot more in the future! I think this is something that can be worn whether you have straight or curly hair and you can really make it your own with hair accessories too.

Lace Is The New Black

Dress: Forever 21

Normally I would go for something a lot more elegant than this dress, but I adore the lace maxi skirt and it is so comfortable I could lounge around in this dress. Seriously. Lace is one of my biggest obsessions and one of my favourite designs. I think its very feminine and elegant and can be worn whatever the weather and whatever the occasion.

Talk to you soon,

REVIEW: Naked Style Curl Taming Cream

I hit a huge low with my hair a little while ago and no conditioner or serum was helping with my curls at all, the ends were just frizzy clumps. I'd heard a few beauty bloggers talking about how curl cream saved their hair so I thought I'd give it a go. Looking through Boots I really wanted to try a brand I'd never heard of before just to take a break from my regular products and I succeeded with finding something completely off the radar. I've never even heard of Naked Style before but I was drawn to it because of how natural it is.

I find that my hair works best with products that aren't too heavy as it weighs down the curls and breaks them up, causing it to go quite frizzy, and this cream is perfect for putting some hydration into my ends and smoothing them out. Sometimes the trick to combating frizzy hair is to actually steer clear of anything that claims to get rid of frizz. Trust me, they won't work. It's quite sticky but I apply it occasionally to damp hair and let it air dry, and my hair feels so smooth as if I've used a serum.

I would definitely try out more of this brand but if you have any more suggestions on how to tame thick frizzy curly hair let me know!

Current Favourites

I was going to do a June favourites post but I just didn't feel as if I had many favourites at all this month, I haven't really tried anything new that I am absolutely loving, so I thought I'd share a few things I have been obsessed with lately.

One thing I have really been loving this month is putting lemon in my water. I wasn't drinking enough water and I'v been told that lemon very healthy for you so I thought why not try it. I find it so refreshing and I can't get enough!

I can't stop myself from wearing this top even though I try so hard to not to over wear it, because it is amazing. Never do I find an item of clothing I go mad over, and it is 2 sizes too big for me but as soon as I put this on I fell in love. It has a really nice slouchy and over sized feel to it and it's very thin and lightweight so it's perfect for summer nights.

I have been wearing this ring a ton this month, so much I actually decided I needed to go jewellery shopping because I wear it way too much. I love the dainty-ness of it, I think it's very elegant and that's what I like with jewellery; I don't like anything to be too garish but something small and classic will do me fine.

I was so bored of my clear phone case and it was actually getting quite dirty so I thought I'd check out some cases on Amazon because they are really cheap on there, and I came across this and it just screams me. Anyone who knows me - even a little - will know I love cats. I love anything cat related too - I'm always throwing my phone in peoples faces now, just so they can see I've made my obsession public!

I have a music favourite and it's a band called New Politics I found on Spotify whilst looking through related artists of bands I already like. I have to say when I first heard their songs I wasn't at all convinced, but a few songs later and I was loving them. I find that where some of their songs have the same feel, there will be others on this album that are completely different to others and I love the variety.

Maybe next favourites I'll actually have some beauty in there, and I'll aspire to that next month.

Talk soon,
