REVIEW: Maybelline Colour Drama

As soon as I saw Lily Melrose compare these to the higher end lip crayons I thought I'd snap up a few of these colour drama's from Maybelline. I've got Nude Perfection which I think is a great browny nude I wear all the time and also Love my Pink which is a very hot pink colour which isn't so wearable on my skin so I have to tone it down a little.

I really love these because they aren't drying, actually they're quite velvety and feel really nice on the lips. They have quite a good colour range which I really like - I spent ages picking out my favourites!

I've never tried a high end lip product so I don't how these compare but these are so high quality and I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Classic

Tunic: Topshop Trousers: Topshop (similar) Fur Cardigan: H&M Necklace: Forever21 Shoes: H&M Bag: Dorothy Perkins

I love being able to dress up and dress down outfits, like with this white high neck tunic. It's so effortlessly chic and classic, and I love pairing it simple items to wear casually. It's a lot longer on me than it should be, but that's only cos I'm very short. Shout out to all you 5'3 and under girls out there!

I've really gotten into gold jewellery over silver recently because it really warms up an outfit, which is great for these colder months, so I paired it with a really simple and elegant necklace that I think compliments it so well.

My Go To Red Lip

If I've been wearing red lips recently it has definitely been this combination of lipsticks.

When I went to Venice earlier this year I popped into Kiko Cosmetics and I picked up this really beautiful red lipstick in the shade 909? There isn't a name on the bottom but it says 909 so I'm guessing that is the shade! Wearing this on it's own is a little troublesome for me because it rubs off so easily but it's such a pretty dark red colour.

In my mad rush to acquire some lipsticks for my sudden obsession I picked up a Sleek matte lipstick in the shade Dare, which is really deep burgundy colour. It's quite drying on the lips - the matte colour goes on dry and it stays dry!

I really wanted to wear the perfect red lip on a night out I had not too long ago so I put both of these on and they balance each other out so well! Mix together a really hard to budge lipstick with a smudge off with a whirl of wind lipstick and you have the perfect stay all day lip colour. Also, the mix of the deep red and dark burgundy makes my all time perfect shade and I am just in love!

What's your favourite lip colour of the moment?

A Rainy Day

So the weather has officially declared itself to be autumn and the rain just won't stop it seems! I bought this teal skirt from Forever21 in the summer and I couldn't wait to wear it for the autumn weather, because I feel that deep colours are reserved for autumn - you could make it work in the summer with a bright floral top, but I love it with tights and boots.

I paired it with a simple navy and white striped top, and my signature gold chain to make the t-shirt look less bulky. Of course I had to put on my waterproof, but I love this one because it has fur lining that you can remove, so it's great for all seasons and for this day it kept me really warm and cosy!

L'oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream

NEW FONT ALERT!
I like this one a lot better.

I was in the need of a new felt tip eyeliner and I wanted to try the new addition the Super Liner range 'So Couture', and because Boots is amazing they were having a 'Spend £9.99 and get this eyeliner free'. Naturally I just had to, so I picked up the L'oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream.

I never really thought of trying this product because I haven't heard much about it, but I was in the need of a primer so I thought I'd try it out. I will say I'm rather confused about this product - it claims to immediately blur pores and refine the skins texture, and it even has different shades for skin, however I can't see this on my skin whatsoever, not even in the slightest. Meaning it doesn't do anything but sit on the skin.

I didn't notice any blurring going on, which I'm really confused about seeing as this product is literally called blur cream. I will agree on the fact that it refines the skins texture and this is probably the only reason it's part of my every day makeup routine. I've been having a phase of dry skin at the minute, and this makes my foundation go on a lot smoother.

I think, as a summary, this product isn't worth the £9.99 price tag if they want to advertise it as blur cream. As a plain primer I think it's okay, I just don't see it doing much else than making my foundation sit a little nicer on the skin. Probably wouldn't repurchase this one.

Does anyone have any primer recommendations? I was thinking about picking up the Smashbox colour correcting  primer after having a test run with it and I think that's a product I will fall in love with.

Autumn Colours

Me and the lighting are very bad this week, mainly because I felt very ill and I chose a spot that had extremely harsh sunlight but I really wanted to show you my favourite go to jeans at the minute, and these are the aubergine Joni jeans from Topshop. They are such a lovely autumnal colour and they fit into my wardrobe perfectly, seeing as they go with pretty much everything.

Here I went with a simple outfit, pairing the jeans with my converse and trusty old black jumper. It's been a really go to outfit and I think I'll be wearing these jeans a lot these next few months. The Joni's are literally my favourite style jeans from Topshop and after trying a pair of Leigh's, I'm certain the Joni's were made for me.

Do you have a go to autumn colour or item?

I'm changing my post schedule due to the fact I do shift work and I find it really hard to find time to take my blog pictures and write up posts for you; so I'm changing it to fashion posts every Sunday and beauty posts every Wednesday.

September Favourites

Is it just me or did September fly by? I feel like this year is going at an average speed but c'mon, September felt like a week long.

I don't have that many favourites, just like every month, I never love anything for it to be my favourite if I'm honest, but I have some things I've been loving so I thought I'd share them with you!

Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay
I have been using this without fail every day and I'm not wondering how I managed without it! It has all matte shades albeit one, which I actually use as a face high light, and it's the perfect every day neutral palette.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong
I love these lipsticks, and I thought to try out a really bright fuchsia pink even though I was under the impression that colour wouldn't suit me at all; and it looks amazing. This is my most loved lipstick of the month by far, and I find it quite a wearable shade for the day time.

Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction Body Spray
This has been my go to scent of the month, I got this in a pack of the body wash, spray, lotion and makeup bag and I've been loving it all really, but I love this to spritz on the go, definitely will be going back to buy more scents!

Thanks for reading, what are your favourites?
