FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT DECEMBER

So as 2015 comes to a close, it's time to welcome a new year. It's nearly the official date to make promises to start a new journey, to start something new, or be a new you. I would say that 2015 was a good year, but I seem to have let that go a little early, this year is one of my best and one of my worst, but I'm going to leave it on a good note - December definitely has some of my best memories and I'm determined to bring positive energy to the new year, and get back to actively making an effort to be healthy, in all aspects of my life.

The first thing in December that will go down in my history books was that I saw Marina and The Diamonds on her Neon Nature Tour! I loved the way she set this out at the Palladium Theatre in London and having 3 acts to represent all of her albums. I'm so happy that I got to see her again after she performed at Margate back in June - both times will always be something I will remember!

I got to perform again this month, and it was so much more special than just acting at university, as for one of our rehearsals we were on stage at the New Theatre Royal! It was amazing to experience that and I'm so happy that I got that opportunity to not only show what I've already learned in this industry, but to experience new things as I move along with it. As I near my second term I'm excited to see what new things await me and hopefully I will be able to enjoy the things that are happening in my life.

What are your favourite things about December?

Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty

Happy 100th post! There is no other way I'd like to celebrate this milestone that to talk about Sadlers Wells Theatre!

Sadlers Wells is one of my most favourite places in the entire world - that's not even an exaggeration. I've been there quite a few times, most of them to see Matthew Bourne's work which is amazing - he even did Edward Scissorhands would you believe? I went to see Sleeping Beauty which is just so mesmeric, it was just so beautiful - if you've never been to Sadlers Wells I would highly recommend going - everything they stage is incredible. I will probably be going back in the summer - I've always got my eye on something!

Star Wars and Katsu Curry

One of my Christmas presents was to see Star Wars at the IMAX and it was so good! So glad I saw it; I can't actually remember the films at all so I thought I wouldn't understand it very well but it was so easy to follow, and it's really made me want to watch the rest of the films now. 100% recommend!

I'm wearing my new vintage £6 denim shirt(!) and I think it literally goes with everything so I'm going to be living in this forever now. We also stopped at wagamammas and I had a veggie katsu curry and that is another 100% recommendation from me - I think it's become one of my favourite restaurants! I was actually going to include a picture of the food but it looked so good I just prioritised eating it.

Wishlist #1

Wishlist #1

Going into the New Year, there are some things I have my eye on that - if a miracle comes along - I'll be able to purchase at least one of these things before the end of January.

I've been running out of my LOccitane Almond Shower Oil and I'm starting to panic because I don't have the £18 to repurchase it, but this is an ultimate life saver for me! I have really dry skin and after not using this for a while, I realised it was really good at hydrating my skin, keeping it less irritated throughout the day - definitely need this again!

My two makeup lusts right now are the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I have seen so many people using these and it's just making me crave them! I don't have an under eye setting power either, so I've really wanted to invest in a really good one, seeing as concealer is my best friend right now and I need something to help keep it locked in place.

I wanted to include some non beauty items on my wishlist, and Lolita by Vladmir Nabokov is high up on there on the list of books I want to read. I watched the 1997 film recently and I really want to try out the book, seeing as I have a little crush on the classics right now. And finally I have to include the Sims 4 - I haven't played the Sims on a computer since I was about 8, and playing it on my phone has made me want the real thing. I want it so much that I'm watching the entire series of Dan and Phil Play Sims 4 and I never want it to end!!

Are there any things on your January Wishlist?

Fine Dining at Tower Bridge

I had a little taste of fine dining this Boxing Day; my brother took us all out to Le Pont de la Tour near Tower Bridge in London, and it was the best experience!
It was so pretty and elegant, and the food was amazing! It was nice to play rich for the
night, and I hope I have more of these experiences in the future. These are my favourite
photos from the night - the view we had from the winter garden was too beautiful for words!

Winter Wonderland 2015

This was my first year at Winter Wonderland, and it was so much fun! I can't believe I've never gone before, I'm looking forward to next year when I go again! Will definitely need to save a little money for it though, everything is very expensive.

We did go into Bar Ice too, but it was so cold and my gloves didn't fit so I couldn't hold my camera long enough to get any good pictures! These are my favourite photos that I managed to get - too bad I didn't get any on the Waltz - that ride was crazy!

Vintage Shopping in Brick Lane

I have found a new favourite place to be; can you believe that I've never been to Brick Lane before? Madness. I love places like these in London, I love the artwork everywhere, the vibe is so creative and carefree. I had so much fun looking through the vintage sales, you'll definitely find me here again in the new year!

Maybelline Colour Tattoos Go Nude

I'm a bit late in writing this post, seeing as I found these gems back in the summer, but I was ecstatic that Maybelline added two nude shades to their Colour Tattoo Range. After months of people asking, they finally granted us these beautiful shades: Creme de Nude, and Creme de Rose. I was looking at MAC's paint pots in Painterly and Soft Ocre, but when you suddenly find yourself on a much lower budget it's great to find amazing alternatives!

My personal favourite is Creme de Rose, because I've been wearing a lot of mauve shades recently, and the formula of these is so good, never a crease and my makeup lasts so long! Colour Tattoo's retail for around £4.99, so I highly recommend picking up as many that take your fancy! I already own Creamy Beige and On and On Bronze, so these were a great addition to my collection, I'm already getting so much use out of them!

Have you tried these yet?

AFFORDABLE WINTER LIPSTICKS

Settling into university has meant I've put off blogging for a while, mostly because of photography and location reasons. I hate how I go on and off with blogging because I really enjoy it, but sometimes I have to take a step back and prioritise my time. I've got loads of posts planned so hopefully I'll be able to fit blogging into my life again!

I'm back today with my new season appropriate lipsticks; I know it's a little late to still say autumn, seeing as the weather in England has dropped to the point every student is crying about having to turn the heating on, or they'll probably get pneumonia. However I still think these lipsticks are wearable for this time of year - holiday parties surely haven't started yet so my red lipstick is still packed away.

The first is MAC's Smoked Purple, a really deep purple, so dark it's almost black. I really like the matte formulas from MAC, it makes this lipstick so much more intense. The other two are both Rimmel, I think their Kate Moss collection is one of the best low end lipstick collections available. My one is the shade 48 which is a true dark brown, just sheer enough that it's not too dramatic on the lips. And lastly we have 220 Heather Shimmer which is a great every day sheer nude colour, perfect for any makeup look.

So there you have it! The season appropriate lipsticks that are now on constant rotation in my routine. Do you have a favourite lipstick this season?

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3

I've been crushing on rose toned palettes for so long now, but was giving up on finding one within my budget. I always tend to gravitate towards high end eyeshadows just because I feel like they're better quality and they really work for me in general, and the only low end eyeshadow palettes that really have any hype are the Maybelline Nude palettes and the reviews on them are extremely mixed. In my local Superdrug they don't stock Makeup Revolution, so I never knew how affordable their makeup is, and my jaw dropped when I saw this little beauty!

I have been using this nearly every day since I got it - I love the matte mauve colours and the shimmer shades in this are to die for. I can create so many different looks with this it's actually insane, and I feel like all the colours really suit me and really compliment my eye colour. I've heard that it's a great dupe for the Naked 3 palette and even though I don't own that palette I can see the resemblance, and it's actually put me off buying the Naked 3, especially since the first two were such a disappoint to me.

Have you tried any Makeup Revolution Palettes? Let me know!
