In The Nude

Jeans: Topshop Shoes: H&M

Does anyone else rejoice when the sun comes out and goes crazy in the shops for sandals, shorts and cami tops? Because it's been that way where I live and I have no shame in admitting I've gone a little mad shopping for summer. I've had these ripped jeans from Topshop since September (notice the knees are staring to bust out) but they still have them now if you wanna pick these up.

The star of the show is definitely my summer ready nude heels from H&M, 100% new in so go snap these up quick! They are so easy to pair with any outfit; you can dress them up or down and they just add a certain sophistication to your outfits.

What's your must have summer item?

Cheap Monday Smock Dress

After months of looking for a black smock dress, finding ones that a too short, too thin and quite frankly, too pricey - And I think I've finally found it! Granted, it is a little long but I am very short so that's something I can look past. I picked up this beauty at Urban Outfitters; it's from the brand Cheap Monday and it's such good quality, I didn't even mind paying the £40 price tag (though I did have a student code).

I love this for lazy days and easy days where I need to quickly put together an outfit; something that is comfortable so I can wear it practically and for lounging. Because the dress is quite long I find it looks best with heels, so I've paired the dress with my most comfiest chunky heels - and gold jewellery never hurt anyone.

Also, did I mention this has pockets?

FIRST MAC PURCHASES

I have only ventured into MAC just to have a look around and see if there was anything I could bring myself to purchase, and once I saw that the lip liner in 'Soar' was a blogger favourite, I decided to go and find it - which ended up being an eBay purchase, not one at MAC. SOOOOOO I finally decided to venture in on pay day and actually leave with something.

I'd been looking up the perfect brown nudes from MAC but nothing was really helping me, so I spent quite a while picking out shades and ones that I decided on was a dark brown nude and a lighter one (it actually surprised me that I'd picked Velvet Teddy as one of my perfect nude shades) and they only had the darker one in stock, which ended up being Spirit. This is my all time favourite lipstick shade, it suits me so well and I can tell I will be buying this over and over again.

I've stated before that I've always wanted Groundwork paint pot by MAC, and I finally decided to pick it up and I LOVE THIS, it's an amazing base for eye shadow and it lasts all day!

Any recommendations for what I should buy next?

3 Minimal Outfits

This first outfit I actually styled around these gorgeous minimal heels and I decided to stay with the brown colour palette, because there are so many shades to mix and match with. I found this shift dress from Mango (which has seemed to change colour in this picture...) and I think it's so classic you can dress it up or down and wear it for so many occasions, but I just styled it for the daytime with this great structured bag and this really pretty gold bangle. I'm really wishing I had these items in my wardrobe!

The next outfit has a bit of a sporty vibe, with the crop top and joggers, but with the minimal sandals and chunky midi rings it is a bit more wearable for the daytime. I knew I wanted sandals with this look, but I really struggled to find the perfect pair because there was just so many! I think there are so many different combinations with this outfit - the shoes, the bag, the joggers and even the crop top, you can all mix and match and you'll still get the same vibe.

This is the most easiest outfit under the 'minimal' category and it's probably the most seen all over Instagram and Pinterest. Ripped blue jeans with a plain white top is the most classic outfit known to man, but adding a large coat and adds that certain sophistication and the white trainers makes this even more casual, and probably more practical (because lets face it, not everyone can face stilettos every day).

That concludes my outfits! I stayed very neutral with the colours because that is just what works for me and I find these colours interchangeable and that's quite key in a minimalist wardrobe. I hope this helped any of you who needed a bit of inspiration for minimal outfits, and if you want links to any of the items just check out my Polyvore.

REVIEW: Honey & Oat Scrub Mask

This winter really took it out on my skin. It completely dried up and broke out every few days, and I really needed a clarifying product to cleanse my skin, but I didn't want something that was going to draw every bit of moisture out of my skin. I came across the Honey and Oat 3-1 Scrub Mask from The Body Shop and I've found it's actually helped with my breakouts and the overall appearance to my skin the past few months.

I feel this is so hydrating; my skin feels fresh and and its honestly glowing after every use. Its extremely cleansing and smoothing and even though it's not an immediate result I can really see the difference after using it after a while. I know that every time I have a period of dry skin I can use this to refresh and revitalise my skin. It has become a must have in my skin care regimen and I will always go back to this.

The one thing that I really love about this product is that it has tons of mask inside! I've had this for around two months now and I've used it once a week and there is still so much to use. However I hope it keeps for a while because I don't have dry skin all year round- in fact, in the summer my skin gets so oily its unreal - so I might have to save this for next winter. Fingers crossed!
